The OSX vos are really bad. The CPU usage from displaying is 48%, it
should be < 20% (you aren't using postprocessing or so? Add -vf-clr just
to be sure).
Also try the -dr option, it might make a difference with -vo quartz, -vo
macosx seems to always do lots of memcpys just for the fun of it...
