[Ffmpeg-devel] trouble with avcodec_find_encoder

Hello!
   
  I am a newbie ffmpeg programmer and i'm having some trouble with the "avcodec_find_encoder" function.
   
When I execute the following line of code:
   
codec = avcodec_find_encoder(CODEC_ID_MP2);
   
the function returns null, and i cannot proceed. I'm studing the 
source "api_example.c" and i got stuck in here. Dont have any clue about 
how to solve this problem, so i appreciate any directions you could guive 
me.
   
I'm programming under visual studio 2005, using the compiled library 
avcodec.lib.
