isom = 14496-12
Shouldn't be used as major brand, but can you create a correct IOD,BIFS
and OD?
Qoute 14496-12:
...This brand should not be used as the major brand; this base file
format should be derived into another
specification to be used. There is therefore no defined normal file
extension, or mime type assigned to this
brand, nor definition of the minor version when ?isom? is the major brand.
Files would normally be externally identified (e.g. with a file
extension or mime type)

There is somewhere a free copy of 14496-12.

mp42 = 14496-14 (mp41 =some time ago the MP4 File was in 14496-1 defined)

14496-* can be bought here: http://www.iso.ch
