It's a pity that nobody seems to care about these patches or about
helping out with maintenance duties in general...

This seems to be resolved in general, even though regression tests are
momentarily bust.

Do we have reliable data on this or not?  Does tta work on x86, yes or
no?  If nobody cares to answer, this issue is dropped.


To sum things up, we're getting into shape for the release.  All
blockers have been resolved, the remaining issues are minor or have been
marked DONTCARE.

So we only need to get the regression tests to pass again, decide what
to do with pending patches and that's it.
