I could imagine that, if implemented, it could be an advantage for the
mpeg ps/ts demuxer to know where the first file stops and the next
begins. That info is obviously lost when using cat. Also with avi the
"cat" contruction obviously would not work anyway.

So I do think it's an interesting feature, although I'd (also) like to
see another another separator, i.e. something like ":" or ";"
