yes i wondered about that too but i cannot read your mind
what i complained about was that you wanted to add a pix_fmt which is
also what you wrote above

also guessing that your addition of RGBA555 would be for backward
compatibility and just optional wasnt easy because its name is new
and consequently it would break compatibilty
