I think these kinds of things are considered useful for a lot of people. I for 
one used to have a patch for FFmpeg which added K750i and Nokia 770 targets, 
very similar to VCD/SVCD/DVD/DV targets. So, I can understand people [*] that
want to have a simple commandline option to enable transcoding to a format
decodable on a certain device. I never submitted such patches, as I figured
it would not be a good solution to the problem, as you cannot accept thousands
of target entries to be added to ffmpeg.c :)

What about something like the attached patch? Not meant for inclusion 
ofcourse :) Just to introduce the idea. It would work for all options for 
which AVOptions are available. The included example wont work now, 
as "ar", "ab" and "s" are not AVOptions yet.
