Well, I seem to have learned how to write changes that Michael accepts
almost immediately :-)

So, yes, commit rights would save the (sometimes longish) time between
his OK and the actual commit. Though that delay seems due to the fact
that the process of passing the buck, so to speak, from the reviewer to
the committer, has simply never been formalized.

I will, of course, continue submitting patches for review.
