Since Diego did that already for xine, maybe would be possible lump
everything in an m4 + Makefile.am targets.

Notice that is a solution just for people using autotools and willing to
have ffmpeg as part of their build system.

I have some programs using autotools and ffmpeg and I live happy with
pkg-config checks and nothing else ^^
