Right, the problem is that there is no equivalent to fork() under Win32
and MSys/Cygwin need to emulate it. Then any sub-shell command in configure
takes a lot of time.

By the way, Mans mentioned some time ago the trick of using pksh instead
of bash, and indeed works great, my configure under Cygwin takes about 46s,
instead of 83s.
