They'd first have the idea that you can just replace some parts of the
program, and then they would need to get a version is actually compatible.
I'd expect that most of them would be about as successful at it as you at
herding sheep or at accounting for a large company.

Yes, point taken. Though I was not unaware, which is why I wrote
"remains easily accessible for everyone.". Note the words "easily"
and "for everyone" ;-)
