I agree with your logic, but I was following the way -f psp is implemented.

Are you suggesting a completely new parameter such as -mp4opts that will 
take values of, for instance, 'psp' or 'ipod' to manipulate the way the 
mp4 is headers are created?

Or would you suggest adding more values to, lets say, the -fflags 
parameter?
