In my experience, it's boilerplate template for "we don't want to fix
it, go away" and "it's solved until the next time they complain". Do
you have contact info and details on who you spoke to and what was
agreed? I have done some license compliance for mjpegtools in the
past, and have always insisted that if it takes "quite some time" to
fix it, then they should take down the software for "quite some time".
They generally will suddenly be able to fix it that same week.
