what about changing
#ifdef HAVE_THIS (un)defined
to
#if HAVE_THIS (0/1)

#ifdef CONFIG_THIS (un)defined
to
#if CONFIG_THIS (0/1)

and then replacing the ENABLE by CONFIG/HAVE as appropriate
?
