All good points, but the fact remains that right now compiling against
tip of tree is broken for anyone who does:

#include <libavutil/mem.h>

I'm trying to package a release of our software for Monday and I had
hoped to use tip-of-tree FFMPEG for it.  Can anyone tell me what's the
right thing I need to be patching (since I'm getting the impression
that rolling back Diego's change that broke everything is not
sufficient) and I'll try to submit another patch tomorrow?
