I see that's sub-ideal, but I don't know how to fix it. The Qualcomm
encoder does all of this in one single step ("convert", which converts
to 8kHz, 1 channel, QCELP from any WAVE file)...

Maybe I should try Quicktime Pro instead? But then again, what are we
trying to show here? Do we really need the intermediate resampled
file?
