Because faad is not allowed in Mandriva, AAC decoding is presumed as
unallowed.

Technically Mandriva's position is "no patented codecs allowed in the
binary packages", though in practice codecs seem to be allowed somewhat
inconsistently.

Eugeni Dodonov (eugeni A mandriva D com) is (since last week) the
manager of Mandriva Cooker and responsible for the desktop distribution.

ffmpeg maintainer on Mandriva (and PLF) is G?tz Waschk (goetz A mandriva
D org), but he is just keeping the status quo on allowed codecs until
some authority (i.e. a Mandriva employee) says that something is in fact
allowed/disallowed.
