More patches doesn't mean more features; you can't consider cosmetics
patches as such for instance (I'm not saying we don't need them, I
actually did quite a bunch of them this year, and so it's likely we have
less typo in the code base, as well as prettier files ;-)).

As Nicolas said, we also benefit from everything coming from Libav, and we
have 1-2yr of features ahead (more audio and video filters, ffprobe is way
ahead, more codecs, a LOT of bug and security fixes, etc etc etc.).
