It now works fine without any extra cflags (and has for some time).  Just the 
standard cross-compiler options to use the Android compiler/sysroot and the 
--disable-symver option are needed.

There are lots of weird builds out there for various Android apps that jump 
through hoops to get all of ffmpeg into single library or other non-standard 
things but the straight configure/make then using those libraries via 
PREBUILT_SHARED_LIBRARY works fine.
