i'm willing to say that carl knows these by memory.
you can search trac for closed caption keyword.
carl and i are the maintainers of the samples repo (and carl
maintains trac), so thats why we know about them, because we move files
there and check bug reports.

the samples list we have is

i think this is probably quicktime mov_text and not 708 stuff:

someone once ran all samples in our repo against ffmpeg and output a
big spreadsheet of working/nonworking . that info could be compiled to
output exactly whats in which sample. a script for doing that was
used once on our old incoming directory which turned into this:
http://samples.ffmpeg.org/archive/
which allows you to browse by codec, subtitle, container, etc.
