Following some discussions on IRC a number of us wrote this message
for ffmpeg.org:

If anyone had any comments/objections etc they would be appreciated. I
plan to send a patch for the website if there are no changes.

It's much better that there is a proper response from the community
instead of bits and pieces on IRC, Hacker News, Reddit etc.
