This is a good addition because I've actually had several questions
about this. I missed the patch review window, I guess, but upsampling
is actually a little more subtle than that now (since
f3d8e0d369456113d1223cdf77072b52fc79eceb). No need to revert, I'll
update and push another patch with a more complete explanation.
