 okay, then I want to complain that FFmpeg continues regardless of
 conflicting options.

 -acodec copy tells FFmpeg I want it to copy the sound. That means I want
 sound output. And if the output choice 00000.MTS.ss438.h264 indicates that
 I dont want sound, then there is a conflict which means FFmpeg should not
 continue. There is no reason to waste CPU cycles (and time) encoding
 something which is useless.
