 Regarding your comment on irc: The problem is that some developers claim
 that the original behaviour (before the patch fixing this ticket) was
 intended and therefore block the patch for the 1.2.2 release (etc.), maybe
 you want to comment on the mailing list:

 Just for completeness another user recently confirmed that the relevant
 commit fixed a bug he observed:
