 I am now trying the last command you suggested.

 The command that caused the crash:

 ffmpeg -report -i largerbrokensample.wtv a.wtv -vcodec libx264 -b:v 7000k
 -flags +ildct+ilme -x264opts
 decimate=1:b-adapt=2:threads=auto -map 0:a -map 0:v -acodec copy

 As for the console output, isn't it in the log here:

 I don't know how to copy and paste it from the command window because the
 command window always cuts the output.
