 I originally was quite sure that it is a different issue, there is a
 transport stream that contains a timestamp discontinuity and a wtv
 recording with a reception problem. It may be possible that the solution
 for both problems is the same (although I strongly suspect that it would
 happen in two different source files).

 Please also answer my second question.
