 There is a configure option:
 `-shlibdir "install shared libs in DIR [PREFIX/lib]"`


 Quite interesting, if you run `configure -libdir=/usr/lib64 --enable-
 shared --enable-static`, everything goes into the specified -libdir
 without using -shlibdir.
