 Yes, could be the same problem.

 My Sansa Clip Jam seems to also play files that have been muxed by MP4Box
 - GPAC version 0.4.6-DEV-rev.
 ffmpeg -i foo.wav -c:a aac -strict -2 foo.aac; MP4Box -add foo.aac -new
 MP4Box.m4a
