 I can't get it to crash anymore but you can clearly see in the log that
 the vda decoder cannot be initiated (because the framework doesn't exist
 on OSX 10.11).

 ffmpeg supports VTB decoder, so it shouldn't be hard to enable it in
 ffplay?
