Heh, ok. (It confused me, at least.)
I think you need to cut the file down somehow to something more sensible.
Does the cut file still get the same results in ffmpeg, even if it isn't
playable in VLC? Also, you can use the VAAPI decode in ffmpeg itself
(with -hwaccel vaapi) - does that give the expected output as with VLC?
