Yes you could, but I'm not sure it'd gain you much. By now I'd expect
that you're looking for a loop which is doubling a buffer size and
ignoring the return value of the read callback then failing to free the
buffer. I'm sure you know your codebase well enough to have a fairly good
idea of where to look.
