Comment:

 Neither is it obvious to me what the issues (within FFmpeg!) are that you
 see nor is it likely that an FFmpeg developer will work on this: The
 blogpost seems to indicate that a patch is upcoming, so this should be
 continued on the developer mailing list once the patch is sent.
 (Generally, linking to external explanations is not valid here.)
