 [https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7845#section-5.1.1.3 RFC 7845] supports
 the observed FFmpeg behaviour, or IOW, Opus is not Vorbis and has its own
 ideas about ''channel mapping families''. But ''"cannot downmix stereo to
 stereo"'' still violates my idea of the
