 After examining the data a little more, the mjpeg data coming from the
 camera (and captured above) doesn't appear to have H.264 present in the
 APP fields of the JFIFs. I do have a spare camera of the same type
 (purchased at a different time) which I can also try this process on; I
 can also try capturing the data on Windows as well to see if that makes
 any difference due to different drivers.

 Slightly confusing, but about par for the course for this camera so far...
