 Sorry, wasn't clear.  Yes, much longer sample (hours).  Drift was
 progressive.

 I'm currently running a long test to see if it's the encoding side
 affected or, ironically, if I fixed the encoding side some months back
 (through a bit of hacking to force proper hardware timestamps, etc. in a
 different ffmpeg tree than the one I'm testing with here), then got messed
 up by this bug affecting the recording / waveform extraction.
