 A modern operating system is not supposed to crash on software problem. It
 may crash on severe hardware malfunction of course. But if any application
 running in the OS does something invalid, the OS is supposed to stand it:
 it kills the application and everything else goes on.

 If your OS does not behave that way, your OS is at fault.
