 I understand that no one is under any obligation to fix a GPL program, but
 it's difficult to see how trying to resolve a problem is considered a
 "direct attack" on the development of that program.
 I'm sorry if I irritated anyone, but I had nowhere else to go to find a
 solution to my problem.
 FWIW, this problem disappears when regressing to release version 3.4.2.
 I'll have to go away disappointed.
