Comment (by ProWo):

 The ffmpeg AVI muxer writes 00002000-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71 as Codec
 ID (for a AC3 5.1 audio file).
 If the same ffmpeg muxes the same file to MKV instead, this Codec ID is
 A_AC3.
 Maybe this is the problem ...
