Can someone explain to me why my iPod can't handle videos at 640x480
when the spec's for it say it can?

On Apple's website it does say about the display- 320-by-240-pixel
resolution at 163 pixels per inch. But, it does say in the spec's it
can handle 640x480.

Videos at 320 x 240 work perfectly, thanks to all of your help, but for
whatever reason the 640's don't.

Being that I'm so stupid about this sort of thing I'm sure there's an
easy explanation.

The spec's for the iPod Classic (160G) are below.

H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second,
Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio
up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file
formats; H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per
second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160
Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4
video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple
Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v,
.mp4, and .mov file formats
