 Now, I think JSON/javascript could certainly be used as a facade for
people using web interfaces, but I am talking here about core
functionality and libraries or combination of scripts to achieve it
based on ffmpeg

 thank you, I just used a knoppix live CD, to make my point
clearl[y|ier] I know knoppix' software base is not that Debian
compliant

 I think it all boils down to the timing and synching algorithms used
in multimedia data, which afaik is designed to avoid jitter and all
other types of synch problems

 Could you guys suggest any good readings on RTP (Real-time Transport
Protocol) and how it works on progressive, programmatically seekable
media streaming?

 How does the internal counting/offset protocols are used to edit some
of the streams in a multimedia/video file and such things using
ffmpeg?
