I am trying to compile latest ffmpeg and configure it like shown
./configure --enable-version3 --enable-libopencore-amrnb \
 --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libvpx --enable-libfaac \
 --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis \
 --enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --enable-gpl --enable-postproc \
 --enable-nonfree --enable-fontconfig --enable-libass

I got this error
root at server1 [~/ffmpeg/ffmpeg]# ./configure --enable-version3
--enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libvpx
--enable-libfaac --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis
--enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --enable-gpl --enable-postproc
--enable-nonfree --enable-fontconfig --enable-libass
ERROR: libass not found

I install libass
and when I run
whereis libass
root at server1 [~/ffmpeg/ffmpeg]# whereis libass
libass: /usr/lib/libass.so /usr/local/lib/libass.so /usr/local/lib/libass.a

any idea how to fix this
