If you are using cpufreq on demand then I have known this to sometimes
affect things on my old AMD quad core.

Of course it's supposed to be better than it was and it didn't always
interfere when I tested long ago, but if I were benchmarking anything I
would always set my CPUs to performance just to get it out of the way.
