[FFmpeg-user] ffmpeg output to non seekable stream

Hi there,
I am new to FFmpeg.
 
I plan to use it to encode raw v210 HD frames encoded losslessly or uncompressed to a stream or to FTP server.
On the machine (CentOS 6, X86_64) there is not enough space to encode 1st to a file and 2nd send it to a FTP server.
 
Is there a recommendation which container to use to have the transferred output file readable by standard players like ffplay or VLC player. The player should atleast run on MS-Windows.
 
I have read about problems with ffmpeg output to FTP, as the files on the server are either not seekable or get truncated.
