Hi All,

This is actually a question about MPlayer. I'm hoping I can get the answer here that I couldn't get
via mplayer-user.

Carl Eugen Hoyos recommends concatenating VOBs via 'mplayer -dumpstream'.

MPlayer seems to have a mind of its own. No matter what I tell it, it wants to concatenate
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_1.VOB+j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_2.VOB+j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_3.VOB. Look...

h:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN"
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN" menu
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN" movie
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_4.VOB
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_5.VOB
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_6.VOB
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.VOB MGM splash screens & miscellanea
h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB

j:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB "PATTON" special features
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_1.VOB 20th Century Fox splash screen
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.VOB Deluxe Digital splash screen
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_0.VOB "PATTON" slide show
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_04_1.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_0.VOB "PATTON" special features menu
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_1.VOB "HISTORY THROUGH THE LENS, PATTON, A REBEL REVISITED"
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_2.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_3.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_06_0.VOB "PATTON" special features menu
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_06_1.VOB "PATTON, A TRIBUTE TO FRANKLIN J. SCHAFFNER"
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_06_2.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_06_3.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_06_4.VOB
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_07_1.VOB Patton Historical Society presentation
j:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_07_2.VOB

I had the two DVDs above mounted. Neither was protected.

This command line:
MPlayer h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO dvd://1 -dumpstream -dumpfile "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN -
MPLAYER.IFO.VOB"
Opened MPlayer & played "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN" movie
The stream recorded was "HISTORY THROUGH THE LENS, PATTON, A REBEL REVISITED"

This command line:
MPlayer h:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO dvd://0 -dumpstream -dumpfile "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN -
MPLAYER.VOB"
Opened MPlayer & played "THE FALCON AND THE SNOWMAN" movie.
The stream recorded was "HISTORY THROUGH THE LENS, PATTON, A REBEL REVISITED".

The MPlayer documentation is very nice, but it's oriented to Linux.

Any ideas out there regarding how to construct a command line for Windows? Of course, I'd prefer not
to have to actually run the movie to get the concatenated VOBs.

Thanks much,
Mark.
