In general it's better to post information publically - that way, folks
will be able to use the list archives as a reference. So, if you have
information to share, let's do it on the list!

Reiterating, my questions are essentially about why subtitle behaviour
differs depending on the choice of output container, and how to avoid
amplifying loss from lossy compression when using the cropdetect filter.
