[Libav-user] How can i extract Y plane from any frame in video

You must open the images in IrfanView via the menu "File/Open as RAW".
Then, choose 8 BPP grayscale for .y, .u, or .v. IrfanView has a radio
button to choose 24 bpp, with a checkbox for YUV 4:2:0, which will fit
your .yuv files.
