[Libav-user] Extracting Closed Captions

Hi,

  I was wondering if ffmpeg/libav knows how to extract closed captions from
a video (similar to ccextractor).
I am not referring to a subtitle stream but to the closed captions which
are apparently encoded within the video frames.
All similar questions I found did not seem to provide a conclusive answer.
