[FFmpeg-user] question about downmixing

I know in past versions I could not use ffmpeg to downmix to stereo. It says can't resample with more than two channels. My question is, is this going to be implemented, or is it already implemented? I tried searching the list, faq, etc, and found lots of posts discussing it, but could not find anything about whether or not it is being planned, worked on, already implemented, etc?
