[Libav-user] Hardware accelerated decoding

Hello,

I would like to know how can hwaccels be enabled: does the OS on which it's built needs to support them? is adding a --enable-hwaccel=... parameter for each hwaccel enough, even if the current OS doesn't support them?

And if.. in case of enabled hwaccel, will it break decoding in case FFmpeg is run on a host that doesn't support these hwaccels?
